Elcocks Cottage, a beautiful detached 17th century property, is the ideal base from which to explore this most wonderful area of Herefordshire. Walk in the fields surrounding the
cottage and continue through the gates on to wild common land. From den building
to bird watching and local walks, Elcocks is a rural retreat not to be
missed.
Set in expansive grounds, in a sheltered spot with south facing views over the Malvern Hills, Elcocks Cottage enjoys tranquil privacy in not being overlooked by neighbours and is nestled in the heart of beautiful countryside. The property retains many original features such as exposed timbers, lovely old doors and a cider mill and press.
We take great pride in Elcocks Cottage and have carefully restored the property to a very high standard. We really want you to enjoy your stay with us. If you have any questions or would like to make a booking, please call on 0121 427 1395 or email us and we will be very happy to help.

"By far and away the best cottage we have ever had."
Anthony and Family, Guestbook
Our local village is Whitbourne, 1.5 miles away. It has a pub, 'The Live & Let Live' and a community shop stocking many locally sourced products. In Bromyard, 6 miles away, there is a Co-op supermarket, numerous bakeries, butchers and takeaways. At Malvern, for the sport loving, there is a leisure complex with pool. A favourite of ours for food and beer is 'The Talbot' at Knightwick. We have a list of pubs and eating places in the welcome pack at the cottage.
The area is a walkers dream with walks straight from the cottage. The rolling Malvern Hills, Bringtsty Common, Bromyard Downs and the National Trust Brockhampton Estate are all awaiting your boots. We have walking guides and maps at the cottage for you to plan your routes. There are plenty of opportunities for flower and bird spotting, not least in Badley Wood Common which adjoins our land.
The Malverns website is a useful source of information on activities and events in the area. They also provide a good weekly 'What's On' guide which you can find here.
Enjoy dinner in our south facing garden, overlooking stunning countryside and relax in the evening in front of our cosy woodburner.
Look Around
Elcocks Cottage accommodates eight guests in two double and two twin rooms. We have a downstairs twin room and downstairs bathroom with shower. Upstairs, you will find two double bedrooms, one of which directly walks through to a twin room. There are two modern bathrooms. We have restored Elcocks with care and take great pride in the cottage, furnishing it sympathetically to a high standard and with paintings by local artists.
The cottage has electric central heating and a woodburner in the lounge with firewood provided. We have plenty of books and guides on local walks and things to do along with a colour television with Free Sat, DVD player and games. There is of course free WiFI internet access. We also have a games room with full size table tennis bats and balls provided. The grounds have ample parking for five cars and are entered via a private gate and drive.
The cottage enjoys a peaceful location, is not overlooked by neighbours and is set within three acres of countryside. The south facing garden, with wonderful views is perfect to enjoy, with outside furniture, a barbeque and a loggia for eating out undercover if desired.

We have equipped the house with all we think you will need! If there is anything else you might need, please contact us.
We spent hours sitting in the garden, walking locally, watching the local buzzards etc.. We enjoyed Bromyard, Hampton Court Castle, Hereford and the West Midlands Safari Park. A wonderful house, would love to come back again, so much more to explore. Thanks you for lovingly restoring Elcocks.

A wonderful weekend away. I have visited this cottage a couple of times (1997 and 2009) with my family and have many fond memories of ping pong games and den building. This weekend did not disappoint! A great opportunity to have a reunion with university friends and have a birthday getaway. Thank you for a lovely well kept cottage both now and over the years, we've had lots of fun.
